Instruction Set A: For On Campus Installation
Instruction Set B: For Off Campus Installation
1. Select the directory that matches your operating system
2. Click on the exe file. You will either be asked where you wish to save the file or if you would like to open the file or save it. If you are given the option of opening the file or saving the file please select save. Please download the file to your desktop.
3. After the file has finished downloading, exit all open applications to prepare for installation.
4. Next, navigate to your desktop and double click the file you downloaded to begin installation.
5. At the “Welcome” screen click Next
6. When presented with the “Software License Agreement” click Yes
7. Next you will be prompted to select the destination folder for the application.
a. We suggest that you keep the default install location. To do so click Next.
b. If your environment requires that you select a different location (you would know if it did) do so using the Browse… button. After you have selected the destination click Next.
8. The install program will proceed through a basic install and then ask you if you would like to Install Desktop Security support or Install SecuRemote without Desktop Security. Select Install SecuRemote without Desktop Security. Click Next.
9. You will then be asked where you would like to install the SecurRemote adapters. Select Install on all network adapters. Click Next.
10. To finish the installation you must restart your system. Select Yes, I want to restart my computer now. Click Finish.
11. In your system tray there will be a small mail envelope with a key sticking out of it. That’s secremote! Double-click on it and do the following steps:
a. Click on Tools -> Encryption Scheme
i. In the window that open select IKE then click OK
b. Click Sites -> Create New…
i. In the window that opens type 128.205.30.32 in the Name / IP: text box. Then click OK.
c. It will now ask you to verify the IP and Key. Do so by clicking OK.
12. Save the userc.C file (main webpage) into C:\program files\CheckPoint\SecuRemote\database. When asked if you want to replace this file, click YES.
Installation and Configuration for
VPN-1 SecuRemote is now complete.
1. You will need to have a copy of you userc.C file from your on-campus machine to complete this installation. The file userc.C is typically contained in C:\Program Files\CheckPoint\SecuRemote\database\. Once you have found userc.C copy it to a floppy disk or some other location where you will be able to access it from home. Record the location where you found this file, as it will be used later in this installation. Although it is not the preferred method, if you are unable to access your userc.C file you can use the one provided in the distribution area.

a. Click on Tools -> Encryption Scheme
i. In the window that open select IKE then click OK
13. Copy the file userc.C from step 1 into the same location recorded in step 1.
14. Right Click on the Secure Remote icon and select Kill. Now go to Start -> Programs -> SecuRemote and click on the SecuRemote icon to start Secure Remote.
